We're pleased to finalise design, development & start manufacture of our new Tree Planting Bags, now on sale in a variety of configurations to suit your needs or budget.
The product has been in in our minds for a year now having been unsatisfied with the commonly available type of 'budget' bag, here in the UK, when planting last season.
Our design of the Tree Planting Bag had to be focused on a number of bugs that caused frequent frustration when planting:
- A shoulder strap and waist strap didn't work for me, one constantly tugs or loosens against the other as you bend down.
- A shoulder strap alone is very annoying, swings all over the shop as you plant (my mistake for breaking the waist buckle . . . see point 3)
- Flimsy waist buckles
- Shape matters, we were planting medium and largish saplings, 30-60cm. They were difficult to load or access in a long thin bag that bends around your waist so we couldn't fit many in.
- Configuration and re-configuration . . . I used two sacks on a number of occasions for longer walks, fertilising or canes. Using two shoulder style bags was OK but cumbersome and relatively expensive (well, 2/3 cost of that Canadian branded one anyway!)
So that's where we started from . . . .and so . . . introducing the PLANTEM® spin on the typical bucket style planting bag . . . available now in Single, Double and Triple variants:
12" diameter by 15" deep waterproof fabric buckets with reinforced rims which hold open for easy access.
Premium heavy-duty waist buckle . . . single handed operation, doesn't pop open when bending down nor loosen when walking.
Optional 4-point harness, fully adjustable with edge wrapped sholder padding, constructed from 2 foam densities for comfort with heavy loads.
