HydRoot™ Base is a semi-flexible D shaped mat to fit PLANTEM® Tree Planting Bags, helping to keep your tree or hedge saplings in good condition while being carried to the planting spot.

Its semi-flexible base helps to avoid the contents of your planting bag slumping to the centre as you walk, greatly reducing the damage to soil plugs or cells and their fine fibrous root networks.

HydRoot’s upper layer helps keep bare-roots moist. When planting bare-root saplings, it is simply dropped into PLANTEM® Tree Planting Bags, charged with water at the start of the day (~200ml), and topped up as needed. At the end of the day it can be removed for washing and left stood vertically to drain and dry for storage.

PLANTEM® HydRoot™ features:

  • Semi-flexible ‘D’ shaped mat, 12”diameter.
  • Avoids bag contents slumping to centre as you walk, minimising damage to soil plugs/cells.
  • Promotes water transfer to roots in direct contact and a damp atmosphere within the tree planting bag.
